Manisha! You got a new fan! Thank you so much for relaying so much info and in an organized way that so digestible visually.

I love to see other teachers use their skills, passion and abilities to really help and serve others outside of the traditional ways of what our industry asks us to (current language teacher / entrepreneur here).

Like we have to get away from the traditional and find ways to use our power in new ways that maybe were just unclear to us. I just subscribed!

Thank you. You cram so much valuable information into your substacks!

Yesterday I was reading an article on the mental health crisis in the Z generation. I think your approach to learning offers many solutions.

I was a music teacher for 4 years, first in Dubai, then Cambodia. Working in these environments taught me tbe value of innovation in teaching models. My experience with these Z-gen students is, they are so bored with the standard curricula. Yes, they can Ace all their exams, but it gives them nothing back. In Cambodia I learnt about UbD which is a modular approach.

I updated my reply above. My wife and I are both retired, building an off-grid home, which hopefully will become an innovative teaching center when we are a little further along.

How exciting! It sounds like you will also bring a lot of value as a community member. Saturday's post is about music education. It's wonderful to have someone here who has experience and can contribute to the conversation! Excited to hear more about your innovative teaching center off-the-grid as well!

I would love to contribute to your community. My wife and I specialize in innovative programs for disabled and especially autistic children and adults. We spent a year as volunteers at the original Campbell Center in Aberdeen while our daughter Sarah attended tbe Camphill School. We have provided home-school for a gifted Asperger's boy who had been in a mental institution. He made enormous progress in our combined behavioral, educational and nutritional program which we call "The Desorgher Method".
